Khurram Shahzad

Founder & CEO, ClinOpsWord

7+ years in healthcare IT — AI-assisted clinical documentation, NLP tooling, EMR-integrated platforms and HL7/FHIR data standards — plus earlier work in capital markets fintech. CBAP® certified.

“I spent years building systems where clinical text and clinical data had to agree with each other — and watching people reconcile them by hand, page by page, days before a submission deadline. ClinOpsWord is the tool I wanted to hand them: it checks the numbers in the narrative against the actual dataset, it flags the Word/XML damage that breaks a submission package, and it does all of it inside your browser so nothing ever leaves your machine.”

Why this exists

The failure mode I kept seeing

In healthcare IT, most of my work sat at the seam between clinical text and clinical data — documentation tools, NLP pipelines, EMR-integrated platforms, HL7/FHIR exchanges. That seam is where things quietly break. A value is correct in the dataset and wrong in the sentence that describes it. A table is regenerated but the paragraph above it is not. Nothing crashes; the document just stops telling the truth.

In a regulatory submission that is not a typo — it is an information request, a clarification cycle, and weeks of delay. And the standard defence against it is still a person with a printout and a highlighter, cross-checking narrative numbers against ADSL/ADAE exports at 2am. That work is mechanical, exhausting, and exactly the kind of thing software should be doing deterministically.

As a business analyst, my job was always to write the rule precisely enough that an engineer could implement it and an auditor could accept it. ClinOpsWord is that habit turned into a product: every check is an explicit, inspectable rule mapped to a regulatory basis — no black box, no probabilistic guess about whether your document is compliant.

Background

Experience & credentials

  1. Healthcare IT — 7+ years

AI-assisted clinical documentation & NLP tooling

Worked on AI-driven clinical documentation and scribing products and NLP-based conversational tools — systems whose entire value depends on the accuracy and structure of clinical text.

  2. Healthcare IT

    EMR-integrated platforms & HL7/FHIR standards

Built and specified platforms that integrate with electronic medical record systems and exchange data using healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) — where a field-level mismatch is a real clinical and regulatory problem, not a cosmetic one.

  3. Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner

Bridging distributed US and Pakistan-based teams

Owned requirements and delivery between US-based stakeholders and Pakistan-based engineering teams: writing the specification, defending the edge cases, and shipping against them across time zones.

  4. Capital markets / fintech

    Regulated-industry software before healthcare

Earlier work in capital markets fintech — another domain where the software is judged by auditors, not just users. The pattern across both is the same: regulated workflows, evidence trails, and zero tolerance for numbers that do not reconcile.

Straight answer

Yes — this is an independent, domain-expert build

You will notice there is no enterprise org chart behind ClinOpsWord, and I would rather say so plainly than dress it up. Here is what that actually means for you.

Built by someone who worked the problem

The audit rules come from years spent inside clinical documentation systems, not from a market-research deck. I write the checks, so I can tell you exactly why each one fires.

Deliberately independent

No investor pressure to bolt on a cloud pipeline. That is the reason your documents never leave your machine — it is an architectural commitment, not a feature I can be talked out of.

Early, and honest about it

ClinOpsWord is early-access. There is no long customer list to point at yet. What there is: a deterministic engine you can run on your own file, in your own browser, before you pay anything.
